Collecting data from Emarsys

This guide explains how to collect data from Emarsys. To learn how to collect data from a different data source, go back to the Available data sources in Adverity overview.

Creating a datastream to collect data from Emarsys

The basics of creating a datastream to collect data from any data source are explained in our guide to Creating a datastream. This guide contains information about the specific steps to create a datastream to fetch data from Emarsys.

Authorization: Allow Adverity to access Emarsys

Before creating an authorization to give Adverity access to Emarsys, perform the following actions:

  1. Create an API user as described in the Emarsys documentation.

To set up a new authorization to fetch data from Emarsys, follow these steps:

  1. In the Authorization step of the datastream wizard, click Access Emarsys using your credentials.

  2. Click Next.

  1. In API user, enter the username of the API user you created.

  2. In Secret, enter the secret key belonging to the API user you created.

Configuration: Choose the data you want to collect from Emarsys

To choose what data to collect and customize the Emarsys datastream configuration, follow these steps:

  1. (Optional) Rename your datastream.

  1. In Report type, select the type of data to collect from Emarsys. The fields you need to configure in the following steps differ according to the report type you select.

  1. For the Customer Segmentation Data report type, in Segments, select the segments for which to collect data. If you do not select any items in this drop-down list, Adverity collects data for all items in the drop-down list.

  2. For all other report types, in Campaigns, select the campaigns for which to collect data.

  3. For the Statistics report type, fill in the following fields:

    1. In Launches, select the launches for which to collect data.

    2. In Accumulation, select how you want the collected data to be accumulated.

    3. In Breakdown, select how you want to break down the collected data.

    4. In Window, select the duration of time for which your campaign is active.

For example, if your campaign is active for 7 days, select One week. If the start date of your campaign and the resulting end date (one week later) are both within the date range that you select in the Initial Fetch step of the datastream creation process, then data will be fetched for this campaign. Otherwise, no data will be fetched for this campaign.

Run initial fetch: Collect data from Emarsys

You do not need to select a date range when using the Bulk Response Summary report type to fetch data.

When fetching data using this report type, Adverity fetches a summary of the responses to your campaigns up to the current date.
