Collecting data from Salesforce Reporting

This guide explains how to collect data from Salesforce Reporting. To learn how to collect data from a different data source, go back to the Available data sources in Adverity overview.

Limitations

Collecting data from Salesforce Reporting comes with the following limitations:

  • You can only select the report types defined by your Salesforce admin in the Salesforce user interface. The filters available for these reports depend on the filters made available in the Salesforce user interface. If you try to apply a report filter in Adverity that is not available in Salesforce, an error will occur.

Prerequisites

Before you start collecting data from Salesforce Reporting, perform all of the following actions:

  • Ensure that the account you use to connect to Salesforce Reporting has API access and the necessary privileges to access the reports and records you need. For more information, see the Salesforce documentation.

Configuration: Choose the data you want to collect from Salesforce Reporting

To choose what data to collect and customize the Salesforce Reporting datastream configuration, follow these steps:

  1. (Optional) Rename your datastream.

  1. In Report type, select the type of data to collect from Salesforce Reporting.

  1. In Scope and Columns, change the list of fields that you want to see in your data extract.

  1. In Standard filters, select how to filter the collected data.

  2. In Date filter column, select the column which contains the dates.

  3. Select the Bypass API exception checkbox to collect data in case the API returns unknown errors during the fetch.

  4. In Date format, select the date format to use in the data extract.
