Collecting data from Twitch

This guide explains how to collect data from Twitch. To learn how to collect data from a different data source, go back to the Available data sources in Adverity overview.

Prerequisites

Before you start collecting data from Twitch, perform all of the following actions:

  • To collect data on the User Details or User Followers report type, create a value table containing a list of either User IDs or Usernames on which to collect data. For more information on how to create a value table, see Creating value tables.

Creating a datastream to collect data from Twitch

The basics of creating a datastream to collect data from any data source are explained in our guide to Creating a datastream. This guide contains information about the specific steps to create a datastream to fetch data from Twitch.

Configuration: Choose the data you want to collect from Twitch

To choose what data to collect and customize the Twitch datastream configuration, follow these steps:

  1. (Optional) Rename your datastream.

  1. In Report type, select the type of data to collect from Twitch. The selected report type determines the additional fields to populate.

  1. In Input Type, choose to collect data on either User IDs or Usernames.

  2. In User IDs, select the value table that contains a list of the User IDs or Usernames on which to collect data. If you do not have a value table that contains the User IDs or Usernames on which to collect data, click + Add next to the User IDs field and create a value table in the pop-up window. For more information on how to create a value table, see Creating value tables.

  3. In Top streams, enter the number of streams on which to collect data. These streams belong to the Twitch account used to set up the authorization. For example, enter 100 to collect data on the top 100 streams. This field is only available for the Active Streams report type.
