Creating a simple dashboard

This guide explains how to create a simple dashboard.

Introduction

A widget represents your data in a table or chart - chart widgets are also called visualizations. Widgets can also be images, videos and text. Add widgets to a dashboard to display one or more widgets on a page.

A dashboard is a space for you to add widgets in order to display related findings. When a dashboard is created, its status is set to private. The creator of a dashboard can change its status to public so that other users in their organization can view the dashboard and its content.

You can create a new dashboard in one of the following ways:

Prerequisites

Before you complete the procedure in this guide, perform all of the following actions:

Creating an empty dashboard

To create an empty dashboard, follow these steps:

  1. Select the workspace you work with in Adverity and then, in the platform navigation menu, click Dashboards.

  2. In the top right corner, click + Create dashboard.

Creating a dashboard containing a widget from Data Explorer

To create a dashboard by adding your widgets from Data Explorer to it, follow these steps:

  1. Create a widget in Data Explorer.

  2. Add the widget to a dashboard.

To create a new dashboard, select Add to new private dashboard.

Viewing the dashboard

To view the dashboard, follow these steps:

  1. Select the workspace you work with in Adverity and then, in the platform navigation menu, click Dashboards.

  2. Click the dashboard that you have created.

By default, dashboards are displayed in the order in which they are created. The most recently created dashboard is displayed first. If you sort the dashboards into a different order, the new order is only visible on your device, and the changes do not affect other users.
