Cloning dashboards

This guide explains how to clone dashboards.

Introduction

Clone an existing dashboard to create an exact copy of your dashboard in the same workspace or in a different workspace.

Prerequisites

Before you complete the procedure in this guide, perform all of the following actions:

Cloning a dashboard

You can clone a dashboard in the Present page or while working on the dashboard. To clone a dashboard using either of these options, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Present page.

  2. Perform one of the following actions:

    • To clone a dashboard without opening it, hover over the dashboard you want to clone, and click Show additional info, then Clone dashboard.

    • To open a dashboard and then clone it, click the dashboard you want to clone. In the top right corner, click Clone, then Clone dashboard.

  3. In Choose workspaces, select the workspaces where you want a cloned version of this dashboard to be available. You can clone a dashboard to multiple workspaces.

  4. Click Clone.

As a result, the selected dashboard will be cloned. A cloned version of this dashboard will appear in the selected workspaces.

Changing the name of the new dashboard

The name of the cloned dashboard will include the name of the original dashboard. For example, if you clone a dashboard called Campaigns, the name of the new dashboard will start with Campaigns - CLONED. To change the name of the new dashboard, follow these steps:

  1. Hold the pointer over the new dashboard, and click Show additional info.

  2. Click Change dashboard name.

  3. In the Name field, enter a name for the new dashboard.

  4. Click Submit.

As a result, you have changed the name of the new dashboard.

Troubleshooting: Data is missing after cloning a dashboard to another workspace

If you clone a dashboard to a workspace other than the dashboard's original workspace, some widgets on the new dashboard may not display any data. This may be due to the following reasons:

  • The dimensions and metrics used in the original dashboard do not exist in the cloned dashboard's workspace.

  • The date range applied in the cloned dashboard excludes data. To change the date range, follow these steps:

    1. Open the cloned dashboard.

    2. In the top corner, click Edit dashboard.

    3. Click Change dates for all widgets.

    4. Choose a different date range to use in all widgets on this dashboard.

    5. Click Apply.

  • The filters applied to the cloned dashboard exclude data. For more information about dashboard filters, see Adding filters to a dashboard.
