Transferring data to Google Customer Match

This guide explains how to transfer data to Google Customer Match to store and further process information.

Concept

Google Customer Match is an Active Destination. After you set Google Customer Match as the Destination of a Datastream, data is transferred to Google Customer Match each time data is fetched for the Datastream. For more information, see Destination types.

You can assign multiple Destinations to a Datastream. For more information on possible limitations, see Assigning multiple Destinations to a Datastream.

Prerequisites

Before you complete the procedure in this guide, perform all of the following actions:

  • Create a Datastream whose data you want to transfer to Google Customer Match. For more information on creating a Datastream, see Introduction to collecting data.

  • Ensure the account you use to connect to Google Customer Match is assigned to the Standard or Admin role.

  • In the Google Ads user interface, create a Linked Account between Adverity and Google. For more information on how to create this link, see the Google documentation. Once you have set up this link, you can then select the Customers to which you want to transfer data.

To transfer data from a Datastream to Google Customer Match, follow these steps:

  1. Add Google Customer Match as a Destination to the Workspace which contains the Datastream or to one of its parent Workspaces.

    List Mode

    Select one of the following:

    • Select Update existing Audience to add data from the Data Extract to an existing table.

    • Select Create new Audience (for each Extract) to create a new table for each Data Extract.

    • Select Create new Audience (once, then update) to create a new table the first time you transfer data from this Datastream, and then update this table with all subsequent data from the Datastream.

    Audience Name Template

Specify the target table in the Destination where to transfer data from the Datastream. The name can contain alphanumeric characters and underscores. For example, target_table. To specify a schema, use the syntax schemaName.tableName.

By default, Adverity saves data from each Datastream in a different table named [{datastream_name}] Custom Audience (for example, [mailgun_83] Custom Audience).

You can specify the same target table for several Datastreams. If a column is shared between Datastreams, Adverity performs a full outer join and concatenates values. If a column is not shared between Datastreams, Adverity writes null values in the relevant cells.
