Managing datastreams

This reference explains how to clone and delete datastreams.

Cloning a datastream

Cloning a datastream allows you to make an identical copy of an existing datastream. For example, if you have a datastream in one workspace and want to create the exact same datastream setup in a different workspace, the easiest way to do this is to clone the original datastream and then move it to your new workspace.

To clone and move a datastream, follow these steps:

  1. Select the workspace you work with in Adverity and then, in the platform navigation menu, click Datastreams.

  2. Click the datastream you want to clone.

  3. In the datastream overview, in the top right corner, click More and then Clone datastream.

As a result, a clone of this datastream has been created in your current workspace and will now appear in the Datastreams page. To move this cloned datastream to a different workspace, continue with these steps:

  1. Go back to the Datastreams page and click the cloned datastream that you want to move.

  2. In the datastream overview, click the Settings tab.

  3. In the Workspace drop-down menu, select the workspace to which you want to move the cloned datastream.

  4. Click Save.

As a result, the cloned datastream has been moved to the workspace you selected.

Deleting a datastream

Deleting datastreams will remove the selected datastreams from Adverity as well as any data extracts, issue logs and other objects associated with the selected datastreams.

Deleting datastreams and their associated objects is a permanent action and cannot be undone.

To delete one or more datastreams from your workspace, follow these steps:

  1. Select the workspace you work with in Adverity and then, in the platform navigation menu, click Datastreams.

  2. In the table, select the checkbox on the left side for the datastream or datastreams you want to delete.

  3. In the table header, click Delete selected.

  4. In the Delete datastreams? window, review the objects that will be deleted along with the datastream(s).

  5. If you want to delete the datastream(s) and all listed objects, click Delete.

As a result, you have removed the selected datastream(s) and associated objects from your workspace.
