Advanced mapping table settings

This reference explains how to use the advanced settings for mapping tables.

Accessing mapping tables settings

To access the advanced settings for a mapping table, follow these steps:

  1. Select the workspace you work with in Adverity and then, in the platform navigation menu, click Enrichments.

  2. Under the page heading, click Mapping Tables.

  3. Click the chosen mapping table.

As a result, you are navigated to the mapping table configuration page where you can edit the following fields:

Ignore case

Select this checkbox to treat uppercase and lowercase characters the same when matching source values in the mapping table. For example, the following of DE, De and de are treated the same when finding a source value and Ignore Case is selected.

Default value table

Value tables contain a predefined set of target values to populate the VALUE column of a mapping table. In Default value table, select the value table to use in the mapping table. If the field is left empty, you can still select a value table when adding values to the mapping table. For more information on populating a mapping table using values from a value table, see Linking values from value tables.

Editing mapping table entries

To edit existing entries in the mapping table, follow these steps:

  1. Select the mapping table with the entries to edit.

  2. In the secondary menu, click Edit Mapping Entries.

  3. Find the entries to edit and make the changes.

  4. (Optional) To unlink a value table from a mapping table entry, click Remove within the entry row.

  5. Click Save.

To add new entries to a mapping table, follow these steps:

  1. Select the mapping table with the entries to edit.

  2. In the secondary menu, click Edit Mapping Entries.

  3. In the top-right corner, click the Add Entry button.

  4. In Match, enter the source value.

  5. In Value, enter the target value.

  6. (Optional) Link the entry to a target value from a value table. For more information, see Linking values from Value Tables.

  7. Click Save.

As a result, a new entry is added to the mapping table.

Linking values from value tables

Use target values from a value table to populate the VALUE column of a mapping table entry. When linked, any changes made to the value in the value table are also made to the linked value in the mapping table.

Limitations

  • Only individual entries can be edited in the linked value table. If you delete some entries or re-import the value table, all mapping table links will be lost.

Prerequisites

Procedure

To link a target value from a value table to a mapping table entry, follow these steps:

  1. Select the workspace you work with in Adverity and then, in the platform navigation menu, click Enrichments.

  2. Under the page heading, click Mapping Tables.

  3. Select the mapping table with the entries to link.

  4. In the Mapping Entries section, click Add another Mapping Entry.

  5. In the MATCH column, enter the source value.

  6. To the right of the VALUE column, click Link.

  7. In Value Table, select the value table. If Default value table is configured, a value table is selected for you.

  8. In Tracking Value, select the target value from the value table to link to the mapping table entry.

  9. Click Set.

As a result, the target value from the value table is linked to the mapping table entry.

To unlink a value table value from a mapping table entry, follow these steps:

  1. Select the mapping table with the entries to unlink.

  2. In the secondary menu, click Edit Mapping Entries.

  3. Find the mapping table entry with the value table value to unlink.

  4. In the relevant mapping table entry, click Delete.

Exporting mapping tables

To export a mapping table to a CSV file, follow these steps:

  1. Select the workspace you work with in Adverity and then, in the platform navigation menu, click Enrichments.

  2. Under the page heading, click Mapping Tables.

  3. Select the mapping table to export as a CSV file.

  4. In the secondary menu, click Export to CSV.

As a result, a CSV file containing the mapping table data will start downloading.

Importing mapping tables

Create mapping tables by importing CSV files that contain the relevant table values.

Prerequisites

Before you import a CSV file to populate a mapping table, complete the following:

Procedure

To import a mapping table from a CSV file, follow these steps:

  1. Select the workspace you work with in Adverity and then, in the platform navigation menu, click Enrichments.

  2. Under the page heading, click Mapping Tables.

  3. Select the empty mapping table to import the CSV file into.

  4. In the secondary menu, click Import from CSV.

  5. In Source, click Choose File and select the CSV file to import.

  6. (Optional) In Delimiter, select the character to separate the data in the CSV file.

  7. (Optional) Select the Has header checkbox if the CSV file contains a header row.

  8. Click Upload.

Deleting entries from a mapping table

To delete an entry from a mapping table, follow these steps:

  1. Select the workspace you work with in Adverity and then, in the platform navigation menu, click Enrichments.

  2. Under the page heading, click Mapping Tables.

  3. Select the mapping table with the entries to delete.

  4. In the secondary menu, click Configuration.

  5. In Mapping Entries section of the page, select the checkbox of the entry or entries to delete.

  6. Click Save.

As a result, the selected table entries are deleted.

Deleting a mapping table

To delete a mapping table, follow these steps:

  1. Select the workspace you work with in Adverity and then, in the platform navigation menu, click Enrichments.

  2. Under the page heading, click Mapping Tables.

  3. Select the mapping table to delete.

  4. In the secondary menu, click Configuration.

  5. At the bottom of the page, click Delete.

  6. In the Are you sure? page, to confirm the deletion of the table, click Yes, I'm Sure.

  7. Click Save.

As a result, the table is deleted.
