File Destination reference

This reference explains in detail how to configure data transfer to a file server.

Prerequisites

Before you complete the procedure in this guide, perform all of the following actions:

Configuring data transfer to a file server

To configure data transfer to a file server, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Transfer element and select the Workspace you work with in Connect, Enrich & Transfer.

  1. Click the File Destination in the list.

  2. In the left navigation panel, click Schema Options.

  3. Fill in the following fields:

    Schema Mapping

By default, Adverity does not apply Schema Mapping conventions to the Data Extracts when transferring them to the Destination. For more information on Schema Mapping, see Harmonizing data.

To apply the Schema Mapping conventions defined at the Datastream level when transferring data, select one of the following options:

    • To apply Schema Mapping and transfer columns with information about created or updated timestamps and filenames, select Enabled (with metadata).

    • To apply Schema Mapping and do not transfer columns containing information about created/updated timestamps and filenames, select Enabled (without metadata).

    Force String Type

By default, Adverity automatically recognizes the data type of each field. Select this checkbox to convert all fields to the String data type.

    Format Column Names

Select this checkbox to format column names in the following way:

    • Spaces and special characters in column names are replaced with underscores (_).

    • Column names that start with a number are prefixed with the letter n.

    Convert column names to lowercase

Select this checkbox to convert column names to lower case.

    New line mode

Specify how to treat line breaks.

  4. Click Save.

Troubleshooting: Adverity cannot access File Destination

If Adverity cannot access the File Destination, the Destination may restrict access based on IP address.

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Find the IP address of your Adverity instance. To find the IP address of your Adverity instance, contact Adverity Customer Support.

  2. Add Adverity's IP address to the whitelist of your Destination.
