Displaying images in data tables and KPI boxes

This guide explains how to display images in data tables and KPI boxes.

Introduction

If your collected data contains a dimension with URL links to images, you can display the linked images in your data table and KPI box widgets. For example, this allows you to display a preview image of each ad in a campaign alongside its impressions.

Prerequisites

Before you complete the procedure in this guide, perform all of the following actions:

Displaying images in a data table

To display images in a data table, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Explore page.

  1. In the Dimensions & Metrics list on the left, select a dimension with image URLs that has been configured as an image dimension.

  2. In the Dimensions & Metrics list on the left, select at least one metric.

  1. Add the data table that you have created to a dashboard as a table widget.

As a result, instead of the URLs, the associated images are displayed in the table widget according to the image dimension's settings.

Displaying images in KPI box widgets

To display an image in a KPI box, follow these steps:

  1. Follow the instructions in Creating visualization widgets to create a visualization containing your data. Make sure the following conditions are met:

    • In the Dimensions & Metrics list on the left, select a dimension with image URLs that has been configured as an image dimension.

    • Select a single value data set that consists of an image URL.

  2. Above the visualization, select the KPI Box chart type.

The image dimension value will be displayed as an image by default.

  3. (Optional) To the right of the visualization, use the Settings drop-down menu to configure the KPI box appearance.

  4. (Optional) Disable the Display as image toggle in the Image dimension section in the data series (lowest level) settings to display the image URL instead.

  5. Add the visualization that you have created to a dashboard .

As a result, the KPI box visualization widget displays an image instead of the image URL.
