Cloning dashboards

This guide explains how to clone dashboards.

Introduction

Clone a dashboard to create an exact copy within the dashboard's workspace or in a different workspace.

Prerequisites

Before you complete the procedure in this guide, perform all of the following actions:

Cloning a dashboard in the Dashboards homepage

To clone a dashboard in the Dashboards homepage, follow these steps:

  1. Select the workspace you work with in Adverity and then, in the platform navigation menu, click Dashboards.

  2. Hold the pointer over the dashboard, and then click Show additional info.

  3. Click Clone dashboard.

  4. Select the workspaces in which you want to clone the dashboard.

  5. Click Clone.

The name of the cloned dashboard will include the name of the original dashboard. For example, if you clone a dashboard called Campaigns, the new dashboard will be called Campaigns - CLONED (123). To change the name of the new dashboard, follow these steps:

  1. Hold the pointer over the new dashboard, and then click Show additional info.

  2. Click Change dashboard name.

  3. In the Name field, enter a name for the new dashboard.

  4. Click Submit.

As a result, you have cloned the selected dashboard, added the new dashboard to the Dashboards page in the workspace or workspaces you selected, and changed the name of the new dashboard.

Cloning a dashboard in the dashboard preview page

To clone a dashboard in the dashboard preview page, follow these steps:

  1. Select the workspace you work with in Adverity and then, in the platform navigation menu, click Dashboards.

  2. Click the dashboard to open it.

  3. In the top right corner, click Clone.

  4. Click Clone dashboard.

  5. Select the workspaces in which you want to clone the dashboard.

  6. Click Clone.

As a result, you have cloned the selected dashboard, and added the new dashboard to the Dashboards page in the workspace or workspaces you selected.

Troubleshooting: missing data after cloning a dashboard to another workspace

If you clone a dashboard to a workspace other than the dashboard's original workspace, some of the widgets may not display any data. This may be due to the following reasons:

  • The dimensions and metrics used in the original dashboard do not exist in the cloned dashboard's workspace.

  • The date range applied in the cloned dashboard excludes data. To change the date range, follow these steps:

    1. Open the cloned dashboard.

    2. In the top corner, click Edit Dashboard.

    3. Click Change dates for all widgets.

    4. Choose a different date range.

    5. Click Apply.

  • The filters applied to the cloned dashboard exclude data.
