Knowledge base

The knowledge base is the collection of context items Adverity Atlas draws on when it answers. This page covers what an item is, how it reaches Chat, and how items are kept current.

Prerequisites

Editor role to add or edit. Viewers see the effect of knowledge in answers but do not manage the items.

What an item is

Each item is a typed piece of context with a short summary and a markdown body:

  • Type: What kind of context it is, Note, Brand, Market, Product, Audience Segment, Naming Convention, Funnel Mapping, Promoted Finding, Design System, or Slide Master, so Adverity Atlas knows how to apply it

  • Summary: A one-line gist, used when scanning and ranking items

  • Content: The full detail in markdown, searchable in full

  • Evidence: The reasoning or examples behind it, especially for extracted items

How an item reaches Chat

Not every item should be in the model’s context on every question, that would be noise. Each item carries a usage mode:

  • Auto: The default, retrieved per question when it is relevant, by matching the question against the item

  • Always: Pinned into every conversation in the workspace, for context that should never be missed

  • Never: Kept in the knowledge base and reachable when explicitly searched, but never auto-injected into a conversation

Use Always sparingly, for the handful of facts that shape every answer (your primary brand, your fiscal calendar). Leave the rest on Auto so they surface only when they matter.

Where items come from

  • Manual: You write the item yourself

  • Extracted from conversations: Adverity Atlas notices durable context in a chat and proposes an item

  • Extracted from your warehouse: Profiling a data source surfaces patterns worth capturing

  • Web enrichment: Public information about your brands and markets, where enabled

Extraction also runs on demand. Extract Knowledge on a connected data source proposes brands, markets, products, audience segments, and naming conventions from that source, and needs the Editor role. See Data governance.

Conversations contribute in two ways. A rule you state as fact (“our ROAS target is 3x”) is captured as a Note. A finding Adverity Atlas raises at critical or warning severity is captured as a Promoted Finding, so an issue worth acting on outlives the conversation that surfaced it. Both arrive as detected items for you to confirm, and Promoted Finding is one of the values in the Type filter on the Knowledge page.

You can also ask in a conversation for something to be saved or corrected (“remember that our fiscal year starts in April”). Adverity Atlas shows a card with exactly what it would store and saves nothing until you click Approve on the card and then Submit. A new item saved this way also arrives as detected. See “Approving what Adverity Atlas saves” in Chat.

Status

Extracted items are not trusted blindly. Each has a status:

Status

Meaning

Detected

Proposed by extraction, awaiting review

Confirmed

Reviewed and trusted, used with full weight

Archived

Retired; kept for history but not used in answers

Confirming and archiving is how the knowledge base stays accurate over time, a detected item you never confirm carries less weight than one you have vouched for.

Managing an item

Open any item from the knowledge list to see its detail panel: the Summary, the Content, the Agent context that Adverity Atlas actually uses, Links to related items, Provenance showing where it came from and who created it, and the Evidence behind an extracted item. The panel header shows whether the item is scoped to this Workspace or is Org-wide.

The actions along the top of the panel are:

Action

What it does

Confirm

Marks a detected item as reviewed and trusted, so it is used with full weight

Edit

Changes the item’s summary and content

Promote org-wide

Files a request to move a workspace item up to the whole organization. It takes effect once an admin approves it

Merge into…

Folds this item into another one you pick, for when the same context was captured twice. Both items must be the same type

Archive

Retires the item; it stays for history but no longer shapes answers

Unarchive

Brings an archived item back into use

Delete

Removes the item permanently

You can also confirm or archive several items at once by selecting them in the knowledge list.

Tip

Merge before you delete. Merging keeps the evidence from both items, whereas deleting the duplicate throws that history away.
