Knowledge¶
Some context does not fit a single glossary term, who your brands are, how your funnel maps, what “normal” looks like for a metric, the rule behind a calculation. Knowledge is the one central place for it, so Adverity Atlas answers with your business in mind rather than generic assumptions.
Knowledge and the glossary¶
They are complementary, and the split is worth keeping straight:
Glossary: Defines individual terms, what “ROAS” means and how it is computed
Knowledge: Captures broader context, brand guidelines, market notes, benchmarks, business rules, and anything that spans more than one term
If a definition alone answers the question, it belongs in the glossary. If understanding the answer needs background, it belongs here.
What Knowledge holds¶
Items are typed, so Adverity Atlas knows how to use each one. Broadly:
Business context: Who you are, brands, markets, products, audiences
Operational context: How you work, naming conventions and funnel mappings
Notes and rules: Free-form guidance and business rules that do not fit a stricter type
Brand and design: Visual identity used when Adverity Atlas generates presentations and data apps
The sub-pages go deeper: the knowledge base covers how items work and reach Chat, business context covers the “who you are” items, and brand design covers design.
Where knowledge comes from¶
You do not have to write it all by hand. Knowledge is added two ways:
You add it: Write items directly, or capture brand and design guidance
Adverity Atlas extracts it: From conversations, and from your warehouse during profiling, proposing items you confirm
Adding knowledge¶
The Knowledge page is described in-product as “Business intelligence extracted from your data, web, and conversations”. Adding your own item takes a few steps:
Open Knowledge from the workspace navigation and click New. Three options appear: Note, Slide master, and Brand Design.
Choose Note for prose context. A panel opens titled “New note”, for “Durable prose context for agents, rules, definitions, how you think about things”.
Fill in the fields below and click Save note. The item is stored ready to use, it does not need confirming the way an extracted item does.
Field |
Description |
|
|---|---|---|
Title |
The name of the item, for example “Attribution windows” |
Required |
Summary |
One line, drives search results and prompt listings |
Optional |
Content |
The body, in markdown |
Required |
Agent context |
Always (pinned into every conversation), Auto (retrieved when relevant), or Never (only via search) |
Optional |
Tags |
Comma separated |
Optional |
Use the Type, Status, and Tier filters on the Knowledge page to find items again, and Only mine to see just your own.
Tip
Keep notes evergreen. Rules and definitions belong here; a number that was true last quarter belongs in a query, not in knowledge.
Slide master and Brand Design capture the visual identity used when Adverity Atlas generates presentations and data apps, see Brand Design.
Permissions¶
Roles are cumulative, so the role named is the lowest one that can take the action.
