Adding images to a dashboard#

This guide explains how to add an image to a dashboard as an image widget or as a background image in another widget.

Introduction#

You can add images to a dashboard in different ways:

  • Add an image widget using an image URL or by uploading an image directly from your device.

  • Add an image widget to a dashboard from the image library.

  • Add a background image to another widget.

Note

When uploading images directly from your device, you can upload an image up to 1 MB in size in GIF, JPEG or PNG format.

Adding an image widget to a dashboard#

To add an image widget to a dashboard, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Present page.

  2. Click the dashboard to which you want to add images.

  3. In the top right corner of the page, click + Add Widget.

  4. In the menu, click image1 Image. As a result, an empty image widget is placed at the bottom of the dashboard.

  5. Add an image to your empty image widget using one of the following methods:

    Use an image URL

    To add an image using an image URL, in Image URL, enter the URL and press the Enter key.

    Upload an image

    To upload an image directly from your device, either click image2 Browse your files and select the image file you want to upload, or drag and drop the image into the empty image widget

    Add from your library

    To add an image from your image library, follow these steps:

    1. Hover over the widget and click image3 Settings.

    2. Click image4 Open image library.

    3. In the Choose image from library window, in the drop-down menu, select the image you want to add to the image widget.

    4. Click Apply.

As a result, you have created an image widget and added an image to the new widget.

Adding and removing images in the image library#

To add or remove an image from the image library, follow these steps:

  1. Open a dashboard containing an image widget.

  2. Hover over the image widget and click image5 Settings.

  3. Click image6 Open image library.

  4. In the Choose image from library window, perform any of the following actions:

    • To add an image to your image library, either drag and drop an image into the Drop here area, or click on this area and select the image you want to add to the library.

    • To remove an image from your image library, in the drop-down menu, select the image you want to delete and click Delete this image. In the confirmation dialog, click OK.

      If the image to delete is used in an image widget, removing the image from the image library will not remove the image from the widget. You must delete the image widget manually.

    Warning

    Images are added as soon as you add the image to the library, and removed as soon as you click OK in the confirmation prompt. These changes are made even if you do not click Apply in the Choose image from library window.

As a result, you have added or removed the selected images in the image library.

Removing an image from an image widget#

To remove an image from an image widget on a dashboard, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Present page.

  2. Click the dashboard containing the image widget you want to remove the image from.

  3. Hover over the image and click image7 Settings.

  4. Click image8 Remove image.

As a result, the image widget is now empty. You can then add a new image by following the steps above.

Adding a background image to a widget#

You can use an image as the background of another widget, such as a chart. To add a background image to an existing widget, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Present page.

  2. Click the dashboard containing the widget you want to change.

  3. Hover over the widget and click image9 Settings.

  4. Click image10 Background image.

  5. Choose one of the following options:

    • To upload an image directly from your device, click image11 Browse files and select the image.

    • To add an image using an image URL, in Image URL, enter the image URL.

  6. In the Positioning field, click inside the marked box to choose the position of the background image.

  7. Move the Image transparency slider to set the transparency of the background image.

  8. Click anywhere outside the settings menu to save the changes and return to your dashboard.

As a result, you have added a background image to a widget.

To remove the background image from a widget, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Present page.

  2. Click the dashboard containing the widget you want to change.

  3. Hover over the widget and click image12 Settings.

  4. Click image13 Background image.

  5. Click the image14 icon next to the file name or image URL.
