Using dashboard pages#

This guide explains how to add pages to a dashboard, manage dashboard pages, add dashboard page navigation widgets to a dashboard, and move widgets between dashboard pages.

Introduction#

Use dashboard pages to separate a dashboard into different sections. You can give each dashboard page a name, and add a page navigation widget to your dashboard to make it easier for viewers to move between dashboard pages.

Prerequisites#

Before you complete the procedure in this guide, perform all of the following actions:

Adding dashboard pages to a dashboard#

To add a dashboard page to a dashboard, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Present page.

  2. Click the dashboard to which you want to add a page.

  3. In the top right corner, click image1 Edit dashboard.

  4. Click image2 Add page.

As a result, a new empty page is added to your dashboard, and page navigation arrows appear at the top of the dashboard page.

Renaming, re-ordering, cloning and removing dashboard pages#

To rename a dashboard page, change the order of the dashboard pages, clone an existing dashboard page within this dashboard, or remove a dashboard page, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Present page.

  2. Click the dashboard that contains the dashboard pages you want to manage.

  3. In the top right corner, click image3 Edit dashboard.

  4. Click image4 Edit pages.

  5. In the Edit pages dialog box, perform any of the following actions:

    • To rename a dashboard page, click in the field containing the dashboard page name and change the name of the page.

    • To change the order of the dashboard pages in a dashboard, use the image5 icons to drag and drop the pages into the new order.

    • To clone a dashboard page, click image6 Clone. An identical copy of the dashboard page is added to the bottom of the list of dashboard pages in this dashboard.

      To clone a dashboard page to another dashboard or a dashboard template, see Cloning dashboard pages to different dashboards.

    • To delete a dashboard page, click image7 Delete. The selected dashboard page and all widgets on this page will be deleted.

  6. Click Apply.

Cloning dashboard pages to different dashboards#

To clone a dashboard page to a different dashboard or to an existing dashboard template, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Present page.

  2. Click the dashboard that contains the dashboard page you want to clone.

  3. Use the page navigation arrows at the top of the dashboard to go to the dashboard page you want to clone.

  4. In the top right corner, click image8 Clone.

  5. Click image9 Clone page.

  6. Choose one of the following options:

    • To clone this dashboard page to a different dashboard, select the corresponding workspace and dashboard.

    • To clone this dashboard page to an existing dashboard template, click the Templates tab, and select the dashboard template to which you want to add this dashboard page.

  7. Click Clone.

As a result, you have cloned the selected dashboard page and added it as a new dashboard page to the dashboard or dashboard template you selected.

Adding dashboard page navigation widgets to dashboards#

When you add dashboard pages to a dashboard, Adverity automatically adds arrow icons at the top of the dashboard page. You can use these arrows to navigate between dashboard pages.

You can also add and customize a page navigation widget on the dashboard, which tells dashboard viewers what page they are currently on, and provides an overview of all dashboard pages in the dashboard.

To add a page navigation widget to a dashboard, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Present page.

  2. Click the dashboard to which you want to add the widget.

  3. In the top right corner, click image10 Edit dashboard.

  4. Click image11 Page navigation. As a result, a page navigation widget is added to the top of the dashboard.

  5. To customize the appearance of the page navigation widget, follow these steps:

    1. In the top right corner of the dashboard, click image12 Edit dashboard.

    2. Click image13 Theme.

    3. In the Edit theme window, click the Advanced tab.

    4. In the Page navigation buttons section, change the appearance of the page navigation widget.

    5. Click Apply.

As a result, you have added and customized a page navigation widget on this dashboard. In the page navigation widget, dashboard users can click the name of a dashboard page to go to that page.

Moving widgets between dashboard pages#

To move a widget from one dashboard page to another, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Present page.

  2. Click the dashboard that contains the widget.

  3. Using the arrow icons in the top right corner, go to the dashboard page which contains the widget.

  4. Hold the pointer over the widget, and then click image14 Widget actions.

  5. Click image15 Move to page.

  6. Click the dashboard page to which you want to move the widget.

As a result, the widget is moved to the selected dashboard page.
