Confirming data completeness#
This guide explains how to check the data completeness of your dashboards.
Prerequisites#
Before you read this reference, perform all of the following actions:
Introduction#
To confirm your data has been successfully sent to a dashboard, check the data completeness status in the Present page. With this status indicator, you no longer need to check individual datastreams connected to your dashboard in Adverity, as the current status of all datastreams is displayed in the Present element.
Note
Adverity displays the data completeness status only for scheduled fetches. The status of manual fetches is not displayed in the dashboard. Adverity does not display status information older than 30 days.
Finding dashboard status#
To find the completeness status in Present, follow these steps:
Go to the Present page.
Select a dashboard.
The dashboard status is displayed in the upper left corner.
Note
The information displayed in this status indicator is an aggregation of all the datastream statuses connected to your dashboard, where only the most relevant status is displayed. For example, if you have two datastreams and one is still fetching the data, Adverity displays the Fetching status. To see the status of every datastream linked to your dashboard, check the last step below.
Click the status indicator in the upper left corner marked with to see the statuses of individual datastreams connected to the dashboard.
Understanding the data completeness statuses#
The data completeness statuses for a dashboard are as follows:
- Data is Complete
The Data is Complete status is displayed once all scheduled tasks for a datastream are complete, or you acknowledge all errors in the datastream.
- Fetching Data
The Fetching Data status is displayed if any datastream connected to your dashboard has an active running task (for example, fetching, an ongoing transformation, an ongoing data load).
- Data is Incomplete
The Data is Incomplete status is displayed if there are any errors in the datastreams connected to your dashboard. This error can happen in any of the previous steps, including fetching, enriching, and loading the data. To change the status to Complete, acknowledge all errors in the datastream overview in the Datastreams page.
- Data Completeness N/A
The Data Completeness N/A status is displayed when a certain threshold of available rows of data has been exceeded. At the time of writing this reference, the limit was 1 million rows of data per workspace. Ask your Account Manager to provide you with specific details for your Adverity instance. To work around this limitation, create a more granular workspace structure where you do not exceed the rows threshold.
