Adding widgets to a dashboard#

This guide explains how to add widgets to a dashboard in Present and rename widgets on a dashboard.

Introduction#

A widget is an individual element on a dashboard. Use Explore to create table and chart (visualization) widgets based on your data. You can also add image, video, and text widgets to your dashboard.

In Explore, you create and edit widgets in a view. Only views that are added to a dashboard as a widget are saved.

Adding widgets to a dashboard in Present#

When you create a dashboard or a dashboard page, it is empty until you populate it with widgets.

To add a widget to a dashboard, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Present page.

  2. Click the dashboard to open it.

  3. Using the Page arrows at the top of your dashboard, go to the dashboard page where you want to add a widget.

Renaming widgets#

To rename a widget, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Present page.

  2. Click the dashboard to open it.

  3. Find the widget that you want to rename.

  4. In the top left corner of the widget, click the title of the widget, and enter the new name.

Adding a pre-built visualization widget to a dashboard#

A pre-built widget is a widget that has already been created and configured, either by Adverity or by another user in your Adverity instance. When adding a pre-built widget to a dashboard, you can choose a pre-built widget from the library or fill in the questionnaire to help Adverity find the best pre-built widget to meet your needs.

Pre-built widgets in the Custom Library have been created by other users in your Adverity instance. When adding widgets from the Custom Library, you can change the date range as well as the dimensions and metrics used in the visualization. For more information on the Custom Library, see Using the Custom Library.

Limitations#

Adding pre-built widgets to a dashboard comes with the following limitations:

  • Large data sets and date ranges may take some time to preview when configuring the pre-built widget.

  • Filters can only be added to pre-built widgets after they have been added to a dashboard.
