Send a copy of a data extract by email.

Introduction#

Use the mailto instruction to send a copy of a data extract in a chosen file format to given email addresses.

Creating a custom script transformation using the mailto instruction#

To create and configure a custom script using the mailto instruction, follow these steps:

  1. Create a custom script transformation.

  2. In the Instructions step, select the mailto instruction.

  3. To configure the custom script instruction, fill in the following fields. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).

Recipients*

Type in the email addresses to which the file is sent and select them from the drop-down menu. You can only enter email addresses belonging to current Adverity users.

Warning

Make sure that the email addresses that you want to use belong to the Adverity users and have been confirmed in the account settings.

Subject

Enter the subject for the email.

Message

Enter a message body for the email.

Filename

Enter the name of the file to be sent. You must include the file extension in the filename. For example, to send a .xlsx file called Data, enter Data.xlsx into the Filename field.

Fileformat

Select the file format of the file to send. You must include the chosen file format in the filename. Select one of the following file formats:

  • csv

  • xlsx

  • html

Skip Empty

Select this field to ensure that empty data extracts are not sent.
