Google Display & Video 360: Setup guide#

This guide explains how to collect data from Google Display & Video 360.

Prerequisites#

Before you start collecting data from Google Display & Video 360, perform all of the following actions:

  • To collect data for advertisers or partners, you need to select their IDs in the configuration page.

    • To list advertisers or partners in the configuration page, ensure that the account you use to connect to Google Display & Video 360 has Read only or higher role. For more information, see the Google documentation.

    • With Reporting only role, you can still collect data for advertisers or partners, but you need to enter the IDs in the Advertiser and Partner fields in the Google Display & Video 360 configuration page.

  • To collect data about meta fields, ensure that the account you use to connect to Google Display & Video 360 has Standard or higher role.

Creating a datastream to collect data from Google Display & Video 360#

Configuration: Choose the data you want to collect from Google Display & Video 360#

To choose what data to collect and customize the Google Display & Video 360 configuration, follow these steps:

  1. In Partners and Advertisers, configure which partners and advertisers to collect data for.

    For each field, select one of the following options:

    Include all

    Collects data for all available partners or advertisers.

    Include some

    Collects data only for the partners or advertisers you select.

    Exclude some

    Collects data for all partners or advertisers except those you select.

    Note

    If a previously selected partner or advertiser is no longer available (for example, due to access changes), it remains visible in your selection. This prevents unintended changes to your datastream configuration. You can manually remove these selections if needed.

  2. In Report type, select the type of data to collect from Google Display & Video 360.

  3. If you selected the Custom report type, fill in the following fields. For all other report types, go to the next step.

    • In Query ID, select the query that you want to use to collect data.

    • In Timezone, select the time zone in which you want to collect data.

  4. In Metadata type, select the metadata report type for which you want to collect data.

    Note

    The Users metadata type is available only when using the Service account authorization. For more information, see the Google documentation.

  5. If you selected the Users metadata type, in Filter by, select how you want to filter the users data:

    Partner

    Filter users by the partners selected in the Partners field.

    Advertiser

    Filter users by the advertisers selected in the Advertisers field.

    None

    Do not apply any filter. All users are returned.

  6. Select the Include archived line items checkbox to collect this data.

  7. In Targeting type, select the targeting type for which to collect data.

  8. In Dimensions, Meta fields, and Metrics, change the list of fields that you want to see in your .

  9. (Optional) In Dimension filters, enter a valid JSON expression. For more information, see Examples of a JSON expression.

  10. (Optional) Select the Include only targeted user lists checkbox to only collect data for the user lists targeted in the dimension filter above.
