Cloning authorizations across workspaces#
This guide explains how to clone existing authorizations from one workspace to another. Authorizations cloning is available as part of the premium scalability package.
Introduction#
Authorizations can be cloned between child workspaces without needing to clone an associated datastream. This is useful when a specific authorization used in one child workspace needs to be replicated to another.
You can clone multiple authorizations directly from the Authorizations page.
For more information about other types of cloning, see:
Cloning authorizations#
To clone one or multiple authorizations, follow these steps:
Go to the Authorizations page.
Select the authorizations you want to clone.
Choose the target workspace where you want to clone the authorizations.
Click Clone.
Once cloning starts, a modal with a progress bar appears. You can safely close this modal and continue working; the cloning process runs in the background until completed.
Note
When cloning multiple authorizations, each will retain its configuration and connection details. However, some authorizations may require re-authorization after cloning, depending on their type. These authorizations are labelled during the cloning process, so that you can plan any next steps.
Best practices#
Follow these guidelines when cloning authorizations:
Clone only to child workspaces where you have appropriate permissions.
Check for labels indicating re-authorization requirements to ensure data collection continues without interruptions.
Monitor the clone operation’s progress from the modal or by refreshing the authorization listing once completed.
