Overview in Adverity#
The Overview page is your entry point to Adverity. It gives you a clear summary of your Adverity data setup and suggested next steps adapted to your onboarding stage.
How your data is organized#
Data in Adverity is organized in workspaces. A workspace is where you collect, transform, and work with your data. Each workspace can be configured for your specific requirements, including setting the access rights.
Workspaces are created in a tree structure, where child workspaces may inherit some settings and permissions from the parent workspace. For more information, see Creating workspaces.
When starting your Adverity journey, it is important to define a scalable workspace structure. For more information, see Best practices for workspace structure.
The Overview page displays the state of your currently selected workspace and everything in its child workspaces if any exist.
Data connections#
Here’s how your data flows through Adverity:
Data is collected from data sources through datastreams that define a specific configuration of data collection. For more information, see Creating a datastream.
While data flows through a datastream, all selected transformations and data quality monitors are applied to it. For more information, see Transforming data in Adverity and Introduction to the Data Quality page.
Data is loaded into a warehouse. You can use a warehouse managed by Adverity or connect your own. The data has to be loaded into a warehouse to be available for Adverity Intelligence products, such as Data Conversations. For more information, see Loading data into a warehouse.
If needed, you can also load your data into external destinations for further processing. For more information, see Setting up destinations.
The Overview page gives you a summary of data flow configuration and status for the selected workspace.
Platform management#
From the Overview page, you can easily monitor the state of your workspace.
- Authorizations
An authorization gives Adverity access to a data source or a destination. The Overview page shows a summary of authorizations that require action, meaning they are not currently authorized to give the access. To ensure the data flow is not interrupted, you need to re-authorize these authorizations. For more information, see Managing authorizations.
- Data Quality
On the Overview page, you can find the status of the workspace Data Quality. The Data Quality health widgets show the percentage of the monitored datastreams that comply with the monitor’s rules. For more information, see Introduction to the Data Quality page.
- Users
The Overview page gives you a summary of users that have access to the current workspace and their permissions. For more information, see Managing user permissions.
You can also directly start creating a new user from the Overview. For more information, see Adding and deleting Adverity users.
