Understanding follower count configuration¶

To report total followers, leave out follower fields and select just the Lifetime (interval) and Total (breakdown). Results will include followerCount.

Important: Blank followerCount is a nuance of LinkedIn API. You must select a breakdown such as Country, to get a result.

For Total followers, remove the followerCount field from your request. It will be returned automatically.

Managing data delays¶

There is a 1 day delay for metrics to be available for page views and follows.

Plan your data collection schedules accordingly, ensuring you account for this delay when fetching recent data.

Ensure that the account used for authorization has:

Administrator permissions for the LinkedIn Company Page
Appropriate access to view performance metrics
Rights to connect third-party applications
