Building widgets with Explore Copilot#

This guide explains how to use Explore Copilot to build and edit widgets from natural language prompts.

Introduction#

Explore Copilot is an AI assistant in Explore that turns a plain-language description into a ready-to-use widget. Describe what you want to see — the dimensions, metrics, chart type, date range, and filters — and Explore Copilot builds the widget for you. You can then refine it with follow-up prompts or continue editing it manually.

Important

Explore Copilot is part of Adverity’s AI features and must be enabled for your account. It is not available for accounts whose contracts prohibit AI processing. For details of the AI model used, see Use of general-purpose AI models in Adverity.

Note

Explore Copilot is currently in Beta.

Opening Explore Copilot#

You can reach Explore Copilot in the following ways:

  • In Explore, use the Explore Copilot panel on the left, next to the Dimensions & Metrics panel. Each view keeps its own conversation.

  • On a dashboard, click + Add widget, and under Visualization, select Create with AI.

Building a widget from a prompt#

To build a widget with Explore Copilot, follow these steps:

  1. Open Explore Copilot.

  2. In the Describe a widget field, enter a description of the widget you want, for example: Pie chart for top 10 campaigns by clicks this year.

Alternatively, select one of the suggested prompts under Start with.

    Tip

You can attach images as context for your prompt — for example, a chart you want to reproduce. Paste an image into the field or drag and drop it.

  3. Click Send prompt.

As a result, Explore Copilot builds a widget based on your prompt. If your request is ambiguous, Explore Copilot asks a clarifying question instead of guessing.

Refining a widget#

Explore Copilot keeps the context of your conversation, so you can adjust the widget step by step.

  • To change the widget, enter a follow-up prompt, for example: Change it to a bar chart or Only show the last 30 days. Explore Copilot can change the chart type, add or remove dimensions, metrics, and filters, adjust the date range, and apply colors.

  • To make manual adjustments, edit the widget in Explore as usual.

  • To start over, click New conversation.

When you are satisfied with the widget, add it to a dashboard as described in Creating widgets and adding them to a dashboard.

Note

Explore Copilot can make mistakes. Adverity recommends checking the generated widget against your data before you rely on it.
