Index Exchange: Setup guide#

This guide explains how to collect data from Index Exchange.

Introduction#

Index Exchange is a global supply-side platform (SSP) and ad exchange that connects publishers to buyers via real-time auctions. The connector provides programmatic performance reports covering buyer spend, impressions, fees, and other supply-side metrics across your accounts.

Limitations#

Collecting data from Index Exchange comes with the following limitations:

  • A maximum of 50 ad hoc reports can run concurrently.

  • A maximum of 2,000 reports can be created or edited per day across all report operations.

Creating a datastream to collect data from Index Exchange#

The basics of creating a datastream to collect data from any data source are explained in our guide to Collecting data in Adverity. This guide contains information about the specific steps to create a datastream to fetch data from Index Exchange.

Authorization: Allow Adverity to access Index Exchange#

To set up a new authorization to fetch data from Index Exchange, follow these steps:

  1. In the Authorization step of the datastream wizard, click Access Index Exchange using your credentials.

  2. In Email, enter the email address for your Index Exchange account.

  3. In Password, enter your Index Exchange password.

  4. Click Authorize.

  5. If you choose Access using your credentials or Access using someone else’s credentials, in Set up or edit Accounts, you or the person granting access must choose one of the following options:

    • Choose Grant access to all items, including those created in the future to give Adverity access to all existing account IDs and any account IDs added to the authorization in the future.

    • Choose Select specific items to which you want to grant access to only give Adverity access to the selected account IDs. Adverity will not automatically have access to account IDs added in the future. You will need to update the authorization to grant access to any account IDs added in the future.

    Warning

If you use your credentials to grant Adverity access to Index Exchange, all the items available to you using your credentials will be visible in the Authorizations page to all Adverity users with permission to edit this authorization.

If someone else uses their credentials to grant Adverity access to Index Exchange, the same applies to the items available using their credentials.

This is important to consider if you do not want all Adverity users with permission to edit the authorization to be able to see the details of the authorization items. For more information about user permissions, see Managing user permissions.

Configuration: Choose the data you want to collect from Index Exchange#

To choose what data to collect and customize the Index Exchange datastream configuration, follow these steps:

  1. (Optional) Rename your datastream.

  2. In Accounts, select the accounts for which to collect data. If you do not select any items in the list, Adverity collects data for all accounts.

  3. In Fields, select the fields to include in your data extract.

  4. In Region setting, select the time zone and currency to use for the report data:

    • Standard — UTC time zone and USD currency.

    • Account — The time zone and currency configured for your Index Exchange account.

    • Billing — EST/EDT time zone and USD currency (Index Exchange billing standard).
